PROJECT 1
INDIVIDUAL (10%)
TASK:
This task involves selecting and exploring an Ordering Principle in architectural design. The chosen principle, such as Axis, Symmetry, Hierarchy, Datum, Rhythm, or Repetition, guides the creation of models representing primary elements – Point, Line, and Plane. A more complex model combining these elements is then developed. The final step entails translating this design into visual representations through the creation of four tattoo stamps. This task aims to integrate theoretical architectural principles into tangible and visually compelling forms.
Beginning this project, I've chosen "rhythm" as my main theme to explore. I'm delving into the concept, researching, sketching, and turning different ideas into models. From envisioning to creating, I'm experimenting with various approaches to capture the essence of rhythm in my models. It's a hands-on learning process, taking the first steps in understanding and expressing this concept in simpler terms.
I've chosen Rhythm as the core design principle and developed models that encompass the specified elements outlined in the instructions. The final model seamlessly incorporates elements such as point, line, and plane.
This project has been a multifaceted learning experience. By focusing on one design principle and creating four distinct models with diverse approaches, it showcased the potential for generating numerous and innovative ideas. Navigating the challenge of presenting diverse approaches under a unified principle enhanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This comprehensive project has not only enhanced my technical skills but also cultivated a mindset geared towards thoughtful, innovative, and digitally informed architectural practice.
