REFLECTION:

Reflecting on the Design Communication module spanning 14 weeks, including AutoCAD sessions, tutorial assignments covering hatching, architectural lettering, and exploring coloring media, and engaging projects such as the poster on Frank Lloyd and the detailed exploration of the "Farnsworth House," I find the overall experience to be immensely enriching. The fatigue endured throughout the journey proved to be worthwhile as I not only gained academic knowledge but also underwent significant personal growth. The challenges were opportunities to enhance my thinking and problem-solving skills, particularly in managing my time effectively.

The lectures and tutorials played a crucial role in shaping my understanding of effective design communication. Learning how tools, medium, and arrangement impact the quality of a drawing provided a comprehensive insight into the principles of design. The tutorial sessions were transformative, guiding me on conveying compelling designs and altering my perspective in various ways. Each critique and comment served as a necessary process in building my understanding of design principles, connecting theory to practical reality, and enhancing my discipline-specific knowledge.

Throughout this journey, the support from tutors and insightful lectures has been pivotal. Their expertise and commitment to imparting discipline-specific knowledge were invaluable. The meticulous feedback, critiques, and guidance not only honed my technical proficiency but also instilled a sense of discipline and precision in my approach to design communication.

The final project, Project 3, marked a collaborative effort between Architecture Design One and Design Communication. As a first-semester student with no prior experience, the expectations were high, and the short time frame made it a challenging endeavor. The creation of models and the execution of orthographic and axonometric drawings were integral to the learning process, shaping me into a resilient individual who thrives to give their best even in challenging positions. This collaboration further enhanced my intrapersonal skills, providing a holistic understanding of the intricacies involved in architectural design and effective communication.
